1. Can't open bridge in macOSMOnterey. Immediately crashes with error code 205

   I cannot open or use bridge at all since purchsasing my new macBookPro with osMonterey 12.4. I have reinstalled several times, tried a prior version, reset preferences and nothing works and the app is useless making it impossible to use camera raw. I'm very frustrated that there has been no help for this.

2. SD card folders locked in bridge

   Occasionally my SD card folders show a little padlock when opened in Bridge. If they are, I'm unable to move/delete/rate any of the files within the folders. I can copy them to my hard drive, but even the copied can't be moved, deleted, or rated. I've been able to work around it by selecting all of the files and purging the cache for them via Bridge, but this is very time consuming and annoying. The files are not 'locked' when copied or viewed in Windows Explorer, nor is the card itself locked or protected in any way. Same card, same card reader, and both the card and my PC have been reformatted to no avail.

3. Jpeg images displayed at 100% in Bridge slideshow or full screen view are soft

   The same images look sharper when viewed in Photoshop at 100% and even when viewed in the Finder. These are relatively small images, downloaded from the internet, that do not need to be resized for display. It makes no sense that they should appear soft when viewed in Adobe Bridge. It makes the software a poor photo viewer.

4. Error: "Generate pdf failed due to unknown reason"

   Every time I try to output any number of files, I receive this message. I've tried creating a pdf with 1 and 12 images but neither seems to be working. Everything is up to date. Just a simple 2x2 pdf layout

   Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting the computer.

   Anyone else having this issue and found a solution?

6. Photo Downloader "device is not connected or is busy" when deleting from iPhone

   Each time I try to download and delete images from my iPhone using the "Advanced Dialog," it downloads the images but then reports "Device is not connected or is busy" when trying to delete them.

   I believe the issue is that the downloader is still trying to read from the device in order to populate the thumbnails in the advanced dialog. If I wait for the dialog to populate all of the thumbnails, the error does not occur. However, on a device with 1000s of images, it can take a very long time to populate the thumbnails.

   The error does not occur when using the standard dialog, but that dialog forces user to download all images (i.e. no option for selective downloads).

7. Batch rename works incorrectly if there is a dot '.' in the new filename

   Heads Up: To avoid this error don't define new filenames that contain a dot.

   In Bridge Batch Rename, if I choose to use a new filename that has a dot in it (e.g. name1.name2_unique-identifier) then the RAW files lose their extension and the JPEG files are named differently, see typical results below:

   For the JPG's: name1.JPG, name1(1).JPG, name1(2).JPG etc.
   For the ARW's: name1.name2_unique-identifier etc. i.e. NO ARW extension.

   This destroys the association between out of camera RAW and JPG.

   REMEDY: With a bit of care the batch rename can be used again (once for the RAW and once for the JPG) to alter the naming, restore the .ARW to (just) the RAW files and restore the association by using the EXIF info. But it's fiddly.

   Heads Up: To avoid this error don't define new filenames that contain a dot.

8. Batch editing is not working

   Batch editing files is not working at all.

   An action is made in PhotoShop (up to date version). Several CR3 files are selected and Tools/Photoshop/Image Processor is chosen. Section 2: Save in same location is selected Section 3: /Save as Jpeg /convert to sRGB are chosen Section 4: Run action is checked off and I have selected the action I want to run. I select RUN.

   In seconds I get a message (which I have received for years) that says Sorry, I could not process the following files...

   I CAN run this action if I put a file in Photoshop and run one at a time.

   This just happened suddenly and was working fine a few days ago. Lots of room on my computer (Moved 900GB of photo files to an external drive to free up space three days ago.)

   Any help is greatly appreciated as I have prom photos to process. Thank you!

9. Bridge is not keeping images selected after exiting full-screen preview.

   Bridge is not retaining multiple selected images. I select 2 or more images and hit the spacebar to view in full-screen, then rate and label. When I go to exit full screen mode (FSM), I lose everything that was selected. The only thing selected is whatever image I was on when I exited FSM). It happens every single time, not just once in a while.

   I've updated graphics card, software, and windows to latest. I've tried "resetting" Bridge. I've tried rolling back to previous versions of Bridge and graphics card. I even tried completely uninstalling and re-installing Bridge without my prefs. Nothing is fixing it.

10. Unable to open Bridge

    I purchased a new MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey and have migrated my files and Creative Cloud and I cannot open Bridge. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge several times. I have deleted preferences. I have allowed read write preferences for all users and none of these solutions from the forums has worked.

11. Unable to apply edits to metadata sometimes

    Intermittent, unpredictable inability to add or apply edits to metadata fields such as IPTC Core using Adobe Bridge 12.0.2 and preceding 12.0.1.246 release. This is particularly unacceptable when editing metadata of multiple selected images. Worse yet, there is no error message generated! You must check file by file, metadata field by field, to see if the edit was applied. This seems to persist in certain image files but not others.

    When only one file has metadata added or edited metadata, clicking the lower right corner “Apply” icon results in either:
    1. the added or edited metadata disappear from the field after a few seconds and the metadata is not changed, or
    2. the added or edited metadata remains visible and the metadata is actually changed.

    Reverting back to Bridge 11.1.3.200 seems to eliminate the problem. Added or edited metadata are applied to the XMP sidecar file(s).

    Is this a bug in how Bridge caches writes to the XMP files?

    Windows File Explorer file shows all the XMP file attributes are either N or A. None of the XMP files are Read Only. All the XMP files seem readable and intact in Notepad. All the image files tried are Sony ARW files, both compressed and uncompressed.

    Windows information for the machine: Windows 10 Pro version 21H2 OS Build 19044.1766 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0

12. Switching Workspaces

    This didn't used to happen to me before but when I switch back to my default workspace, it makes the thumbnails super tiny and changes the size of my bridge window and some other characteristics. I've tried to save it the way I want it under different names and it never works.

14. Batch Rename Milliseconds 000 After Editing Files in ACR

    When trying to batch rename files that have ACR settings in a .XMP sidecar file, the batch rename always puts "000" for the Milliseconds field instead of reading the original timestamp. When I delete or rename the .XMP files to not match and then do the batch rename, it works, but then I'd loose the metadata.

15. Thumbnails for PSD files >1GB do not work

    In Adobe Bridge, thumbnail previews do not work for files over 1GB. All the preview shows is the PS icon.

    Why is this still a restriction? Can users increase this limit? Thanks.

16. Cannot edit metadata or add keywords for video files

    .mp4 / .mov / .flv / .m4v

    no videos can be edited. It always shows "File does not accept XMP"

17. Startup lag - Bridge freezes right after startup

    Right after Bridge has started, it freezes for a moderately long time. The UI isn't responding, sometimes the window whites out.
    Whatever startup script or checking is going on in the background it is blocking everything. It is really annoying and counter-productive.
    Tested on Windows 10. Everything updated to the latest version. Tested on 3 computers, one gaming laptop and 2 workstations having i7 processors and 16/32 GB RAM.
    This startup freeze is present in Bridge for almost a year. I though it will be removed after a few versions, but it is getting annoying every day.

18. hard crash (Bridge 12.0.2.252) converting images from NEF to JPG (Adobe Std) in Camera Raw 14.3

    when I open a folder in bridge, select raw (NEF) camera images, open them in Camera Raw, select all, select Adobe Standard color profile, and try to convert them to JPG, (Quality 12, same HDD) both Bridge and Camera Raw crash (silent exit) after about 100 images (seems to be able to do more like 1000 before crashing if Camera Raw stays in foreground - based on ~5 crashes and ~4600 images). 19. Previews of .HEIC images are blurry in latest Bridge - 12.0.2.252

    Copy .HEIC files from IPhone 13 to PC with Windows 10
    Look at preview of any .HEIC file taken on an iPhone 13
    Preview should be sharp but it is blurry. Previews of jpg files are fine.
    I have the extensions installed and the files are OK in Photoshop and all the other Windows 10 apps.

20. reverts to single selection after full-screen preview

    When I choose more than one thumbnail image and preview with full screen (spacebar), when I click the spacebar again to exit full-screen, it forgets all my selections and only chooses the one I was viewing when I exited. Last two versions... please make that stop. It's so hard to figure out which files WERE selected to move/relocate/make note. Is this done on purpose? If so, please have an option to choose which way we prefer it. Thanks.
