  1. Adobe Bridge can't handle XMP-GIMP metadata

I'm trying add Creator to metadata of group of TIFF photos which are edited with GIMP. Now Adobe Bridge also add same Date Taken to EXIF to all those photos which Date Taken is in first photo.

Adobe Bridge is damaging date taken field.
    Version 14.0.1.137
Those files are created with GIMP 2.10.36

I see that this bug is only when I edit metadata of files which are edited with GIMP. If I remove all "XMP-GIMP" metadata with Exiftool then there is no this bug anymore. So seems that Adobe Bridge can't handle correctly files…

  2. JPG File saved by Camera Raw from raw file looks different from raw file + xmp in Bridge 12.0.1.246

Never experienced a detectable visual difference before . I usually restrict JPG size to 5MB. Saving to a JPG with quality 12 made no difference. Both JPGs looked different from the RAW (CR2) + xmp. I cannot upload the raw or the xmp file, so I can't illustrate the problem with an upload

  3. DNG files cannot store xmp metadata

I use Adobe Bridge to manage my DNG photos, but noticed that I cannot add keywords to my photos' metadata recently. Every time I try to add keywords, it shows "The file cannot store XMP metadata. No changes will occur."

Around 3 weeks ago, I was able to modify DNG metadata in Bridge (don't know what's the version by then).

Files are with read & write permissions as usual. Purging cache in Bridge does not help.

  5. In Bridge 2019, some xmp metadata that worked with all prior Bridge versions now cannot be read and imported.

In Bridge 2019, some xmp metadata that worked with all prior Bridge versions now cannot be read and imported. In some of my image folders the metadata appears for images while in other folders it never appears. In the non-functional folder, if I tell Bridge 2019 to build and import the cache, it freezes and then crashes. At this point, Bridge 2019 is useless to me.

  6. Recent Adobe Bridge HEIC metadata editing issue

I’m using Adobe Bridge as a stand-alone software to add and maintain metadata of photos that I save in a Finder folder structure. I’m not using Photoshop, Camera Raw or other Adobe applications.

Until recently, I was able to add metadata to HEIC files in Adobe Bridge that originate from my iPhone or that I created out of RAW files from my Nikon DLSR in Pixelmator Pro. For whatever reason, it’s no longer possible to edit the metadata of HEIC photos which I previously edited via Adobe Bridge. It’s still possible to see them (except in the…

  7. Modified GPS data in Bridge does not save to .jpg file

    Bridge Version 10.0.1.126
    Windows 10 Pro

    How to reproduce:
Modify GPS position in the Metadata in Bridge. Click another field. Confirm Apply. Check the photo in Faststone Image Viewer by hovering the mouse at the right and then clicking on the Go to Google Maps button to see if it took. The attached lighthouse is on the east side of the island but the coordinates that come up in Faststone Image Viewer are still the original wrong coordinates. Correct coordinates are 46,8.4322N 62,30.0139W.

Expected result: the applied coordinates would update the JPG file.
    Actual results: Bridge remembers the…

  8. Bridge 2023. Bug when batch renaming files with metadata

Metadata values aren't anymore correctly extracted from picture files (NEF or JPG).
    Only ^F<value>^F<value> added.
It was perfectly working in Bridge 9, 10,11,12.

  9. Bridge with Camera Raw 16.3.1 outputs .xmp files instead of embedding keywords

    Issue:

My usual workflow is to use Bridge to add embedded keywords to JPG files.

After updating Camera Raw to 16.3.1 this same workflow generates .xmp sidecar files instead of embedding the metadata.

However, this is not consistent, with some JPG files accepting embedded metadata and some not.

Suspecting Camera Raw, I installed version 16.0 which allowed the keywords to be embedded as required.

    (Bridge 14.1.0; macOS 14.5 (23F79), M2)

    Notes:

The only difference between the files for which embedding worked and those for which it failed is that the failing files…

  10. Transparent areas of any .svg file becomes black after exporting from Bridge to .jpg

Hi, when exporting any .svg file from Bridge, the resulting file ends up with black filled areas (instead of expected white ones) that has originally been transparent.

    Here’s the process I take:

    • open .svg file in Bridge
    • drag and drop icon of .svg file onto one of export sets (in Export tab) I created (the one that instructs Bridge to: export given file(s) to JPEG; save it in the lowest quality; keep all metadata)
    • click “Start export” button (bellow list of custom created export sets)
    • the file gets exported to .jpg, but the portions of…

  11. Bridge does not work with PSB format metadata

I noticed that when saving a PSB format file from Photoshop, that Bridge is not seeing the metadata. This would be a Photoshop bug as well, as when I check in Photoshop (File Info), the metadata are not there (sorry, I am referring to the IPTC metadata - camera metadata are indeed there). So, I enter the metadata in Photoshop and save the PSB file. I reopen it to check that it is there, and it is. But when I look at the file in Bridge, Bridge is not seeing the IPTC metadata.

  12. XMP in MOV not working randomly and without a identified cause

Bridge is unable to set/change XMP metadata in a list of MOV files that have the same source: some are writable, some others no, and the errors are very non-speaking. There is no way to know what can be done, or IF something could be done, changed, done better. What EXACTLY, and tecnhically (suppose you are speaking with Phil Harvey of exif-tool) does Bridge need to write and change XMP MOV metadata?

  13. Bridge 2020 displays incorrect metadata

Bridge shows incorrect metadata for images exported from InDesign.

In the attached screenshot, metadata for dimensions (in inches) and resolution shown in Bridge is wrong. When opened in Photoshop, they open at the correct size and resolution (350dpi).

  14. I want to edit mov/mp4 files exif (XMP)

Can I edit with Adobe Bridge following informations?
    XMP-dc:Description, XMP-dc:Title, XMP-iptcExt:PersonInImage, XMP-iptcExt:ModelAge, XMP-photoshop:City, XMP-photoshop:State
I could edit these with Adobe Bridge 2018, but not Adobe Bridge 2022.
If I should set some config or install some plugin or create plugin script, I would do.

  16. Unable to apply edits to metadata sometimes

Intermittent, unpredictable inability to add or apply edits to metadata fields such as IPTC Core using Adobe Bridge 12.0.2 and preceding 12.0.1.246 release. This is particularly unacceptable when editing metadata of multiple selected images. Worse yet, there is no error message generated! You must check file by file, metadata field by field, to see if the edit was applied. This seems to persist in certain image files but not others.

When only one file has metadata added or edited metadata, clicking the lower right corner “Apply” icon results in either:
    1. the added or edited metadata disappear…

  18. Apple M1 Bad Performance updating file names and Metadata on SMB share

    Bridge 2021 11.0.0.83
Hi, first of all, in general I love Bridge, providing all I need for Photo Management!
I observed the following performance issues when updating my photos stored on a NAS (SMB access).
Batch or Mass updates of Filenames or Metadata (Keywords) is extremely slow (even for SMB access).
I am using Bridge on my Apple Silicon M1 MacBook Pro.
When Batch renaming 150 files it took >15min before I 'killed' Bridge manually. It was using 1 core at 100% and took ages to complete the update. It might be related to updating the Cache…

  19. Writing metadata to files on a Windows share (XMP interface or star ratings/labels) freezes Bridge on Mac OS

Setup: Windows Server 2012r2 shares, using Bridge with MacOS Mojave (latest versions of each).

Writing any type of metadata to some file types on our Windows Server 2012r2 shares causes Bridge to freeze. Unfortunately .indd files are one example and the labelling of them is central to our workflow. It starts responding again eventually but each write takes around a minute (and this is over a fast network - mixed 10gbe/1gbe, reads/writes of huge video files get thrown around on here with no problem).

It also freezes InDesign (though not Photoshop, Chrome, etc.) and won't all you to…

  20. Bridge 2023 Camera Metadata Display Issues

    Adobe Bridge 2023. Monterey 12.6.1.
    1. Camera Data in the Metadata Panel does not display consistently unless ALL Workspaces Contain the Metadata Panel. Really only need the Metadata Panel in one workspace, but apparently this does not work.
    2. Hide Empty Fields is checked, but seems to not do anything. Empty Fields display anyway.
    3. Formerly I could display the Metadata Placard, or the Camera Data, or Both in the Metadata Panel. Now when display MetaData Placard is unchecked in preferences and metadata options are checked in Camera Data (exif) the Metadata Placard box rechecks itself the next time Bridge
