Bridge 2019 Photo Downloader doesn't remember previous settings
The new Photo Downloader always comes up in Standard Dialog, even though I previously closed it in Advanced. It always defaults to my Pictures folder, even though I chose a different folder for previous download. It always defaults to Basic Metadata, even though I chose something different on previous use.

PhotoDownloader in Bridge 2020 remains the same, and not convert to .DNG too

I continue to experience the same symptoms as described by Levin.
The only partial cure I have been using for ages is to have the Bridge CC 2019 AppData folder present.
This is partial in that, while most settings are then saved and remembered, the location defaults to "Pictures" which is not my default choice.
I also frequently experience a crash when trying to select my desired download location. -

The Bug is back, my version 11 2021 has this problem again. Additionally, it takes ages for it to select a different folder from the default "Pictures" if at all. Sometimes it crashes during the folder selection.
Thankfully the same fix mentioned by Matthew Gore still works. He is also correct in that I created "Bridge CC 2020" and "Bridge CC 2021" folders, but that made no difference, it has to be "Bridge CC 2019".
Thanks Matthew, even Adobe can't seem to achieve that simple fix despite 3 support sessions, the last of which the guy was to reformat my "C" drive until I said FORGET IT!!!!

I see the same behaviour. Now using Bridge 2021 but still require folder Bridge CC 2019 to exist for Photo Downloader to function correctly.

Same thing happened to me. New install of Bridge 2020 and then 2021 on Windows 10, the Photo Downloader wasn't saving my settings.
Fixed the issue by going to my C: -> Users -> (my username) -> AppData -> Roaming -> Adobe
And then I had to create a folder there called "Bridge CC 2019" , even though I'm using Bridge 2020 or 2021 .
That's where the preferences are stored. Great work, Adobe! Same basic problem now dates back in version of Bridge for at least 6 years

I had this problem before, and found the fix somewhere. It was a permissions issue. And now it's back in Bridge Version 10.1.1.166.
When I go to offload my photos using Bridge Photo Downloader, it doesn't retain that I use the Advanced window, or my copyright info, or file saving preferences.
It's not a big deal, but it creates more work where there should be none.j

Can we fix this problem.
I have a clean install of W10 and cleared out my hard drive. So a new clean copy of PS/Bridge, and so don't have CC2019 loaded, So the downloader keeps reverting to its default settings.
Which is a darned nuisance. -

After adobe bridge photo downloader indexes my pictures from my iphone it crashed with this message. when it tries to import them. to view in adobe Bridge I run a PC animation workstation with windows pro with 100 gigs of ram.
More that enough power to handle a task of loading pictures from a phone. Its been happening since it was first introduced. I update cc cloud which seems daily now but yet nothing has been done.
If you cant fix it please remove it from bridge till it works . You are annoying and wasting time of your customers trying to figure this out for Adobe,

I can't believe I've found instances of this bug going back to CS5. What are these programmers doing at Adobe? Set a reminder each year, folks: "change preferences save folder" Good lord...

I thought this was due to changing my camera but clearly not as the other camera bodies have the same issue. As everyone else says - this is very time consuming.

Bridge 2020: just create empty folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC 2019
Problem solved.

I have this problem too. As I installed Catalina and Bridge 2020 on a new machine I don't have any 2019 folders. I guess I will just have to wait for Adobe to update Bridge 2020.

I have this problem too in Bridge 2020, and to make matters worse, the downloader is now in French even though my preferred language is English and in Bridge 18 & 19 it remains in English. I'm worried that if I remove the old versions I'll be stuck!

We seem to be going around in circles with this issue!
With Bridge CC 2019 a reported fix was to have your old Bridge 2018 CC AppData folders still present, at least for Windows users. This was because Bridge CC 2019 was attempting to save settings in Bridge CC 2018 folders. Then the problem was fixed with the release of version 9.1.0.338.
I just installed Bridge 2020 and the problem is back again!
...and analogously, if your old Bridge CC 2019 AppData folders are kept, then this stops the issue occurring. Without these folders settings are not kept.
So we appear to have exactly the same issue - Bridge 2020 is trying to save settings in the wrong folders i.e. Bridge CC 2019 folders.
