Adobe Bridge Crash on Duplicate Folder Name Creation
Product: Adobe Bridge
Version: 15.0.3.525
OS: Windows 11 (build 26100.3323)
Crash Type: Application Hang (AppHangXProcB1)
Issue: When attempting to create a new folder with a name that already exists in the current directory, Adobe Bridge crashes instead of returning a warning or error.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open any folder in Bridge.
2) Right-click and choose "New Folder".
3) Enter a folder name that already exists in the same location.
4) Press Enter.
Expected Result: Bridge should display an error like "A folder with that name already exists."
Actual Result: The application freezes and becomes unresponsive upon confirming the folder name, requiring manual termination via Task Manager.
Event Viewer Report Summary:
Application: Adobe Bridge.exe
Version: 15.0.3.525
Fault Module: explorer.exe
Crash Signature: AppHangXProcB1

Hello!
Thank you for your reply. My computer crashes every time I try to create a folder with the same name as an existing one. I create the folder by:
1) Selecting the images, and then right-click to chose "Move to ..." from the menu,
2) then I choose "Select folder",
3) then in the window that appears, I click on "New Folder",
4) then the empty new folder appears waiting to be renamed,
5) then upon entering an existing folder name, Bridge crashes every single time, as reported.
The location I am moving the images to is a network drive (not my local PC).
I will not share images from the computer I am working on. -
