"HRESULT error: The GPU device instance has been suspended" after upgrading to version 13
Bridge pops up the "HRESULT error: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action." error dialog when I select the second image.
Bridge Version: 13.0.0.562
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Bridge
- In the Folders tab select a directory
- select any image
- select any other image
-> Error dialog comes up.
-> Dismiss the dialog and Bridge closes (crashes?)
Operating System:
Windows 11 version 22H2
Most recent patches installed
KB5018496 installed
KB5018341 installed
Acer A515-54 laptop
Windows Update says all my drivers are up to date.
I have cleared the Bridge cache.
I have un-installed Bridge, not keeping any personal settings, and then
re-installed it.
I didn't have any issues with using Bridge version 12 on this system, and
wish I hadn't deleted it (using the CC Desktop App) last night.

Expected Result:
The second image should be displayed in the top half of the Filmstrip view.
Actual Result:
The HRESULT dialog described above is displayed. If I ignore the dialog, I can still
interact with the main Bridge window, but the newly selected image is not being displayed.
The first-selected image is still being displayed. As soon as I dismiss the HRESULT
error dialog, Bridge imediately closes (crashes?).
Notes:
- I updated to Windows 11 version 22H2 from the previous Windows 11 version (21H2?)
last night, which is also when I upgraded from Bridge 12 to Bridge 13.
- DxDiag didn't find any issues when I ran it today.

Success. I upgraded to version 13.0.1.583 today. Selecting my first image popped up the error message "Bridge has encountered a problem with the GPU hardware and will automatically switch to software rendering next time you restart bridge. Check the manufacture's website for updates and resume to hardware rendering from the preferences dialog. HRESULT error: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action."
I restarted Bridge and I've yet to see another "HRESULT error". :) Thank you for the patch.
Asides:
Intel and Microsoft do not have any updates for the graphics driver.
I appreciated the detailed in the error dialog box. I'm being picky here, but the capitalization looks funny to me in the message. Should "restart bridge" be "restart Bridge"?Thank you again for the fix. I'm up and running again.
