An error occurred while saving the comment Ippen commentedDue to the slowness of BR 11, I use BR 9.1. Today I tried BR 11.0.1.109 again, as some CS updates and system updates (MacOs 10.15.7) have now taken place.
To my surprise, all folders now load quickly. The only exception: the desktop. Without further ado I cleared the desktop and then gradually brought all the elements back. The extreme sluggishness of scanning the desktop is caused by aliases on the desktop pointing to folders on the network whose devices are offline.
Therefore, BR 11.x should be changed in such a way that alias elements are ignored in the simplest case during the folder scan.
An error occurred while saving the comment Ippen commentedHere it is the same with Bridge 11 on iMac (late 2015, 4 Ghz I7, 32 GB RAM) with macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina).
Bridge 10.* has the same behavior.
There is an Adobe-Help-Page (https://helpx.adobe.com/de/bridge/kb/troubleshoot-errors-freezes-bridge.html#main_Troubleshooting_steps) but nothing seems to help.
I spend much time, to find a solution. The only one at this time is to use Bridge 9.1.* again. Are there any suggestions?

Dear Bridge Users,
Have you tried setting the following Preferences?
Edit Menu→Preferences→Thumbnails→Do Not Process files larger than 1000 MB. Change this to 1 MB.Also, on the right hand side of the folder navigation bar on top, drop down next to the triangle (Option for thumbnail quality and previews) and select “Prefer Embedded (faster)”. Screenshot attached.
Let us know if this helps by commenting on User Voice.
An error occurred while saving the comment Ippen commentedBridge 11.0.0.83 on iMac (i7, 32 GB RAM) with macOS Catalina. Option for Thumbnail is set to "prefer Embedded (faster)" with dimensions of embedded. Each time changing into an already visited Folder with 2 bitmaps, a "wheel" in the bottom bar is rotating for about 30 ... 60 Seconds before the thumbnails are displayed.
In this moment it seems that only network folder, the Desktop and its subfolder are affected. Folder like Documents, Pictures, Music, Films or Webs are shown immediately. What could this behavior mean?
How can I check, wich other app or process makes this behavior?(I know Adobe-Help-Page (https://helpx.adobe.com/de/bridge/kb/troubleshoot-errors-freezes-bridge.html#main_Troubleshooting_steps), but nothing seems to change behavior.)

An error occurred while saving the comment Ippen commentedThe best would be, if the user could define the time by himself without limitations. Because sometimes it could be neccessary to have a longer time, also for several minutes (more than 99, please).

Hi,
This feature has been released in Bridge v10.0.
In the Content Panel, there is a check box “Show Tiles” which can be unchecked to remove the Thumbnail boxes.
Thanks,

Dear Users,
This is as designed for Bridge CC 2019.Please post it as a feature request
An error occurred while saving the comment Ippen commentedIt is not understandible, that this change should be a feature not a bug! For those who often use shortkeys is the missing Command-X terrible! And it slow down its work!

Hi,
This request has been addressed in v10.0 of Bridge released earlier this month.
Please upgrade to see the change.
You have options at the bottom of the content pane to Hide Tiles and Show Thumbnails only. These options will allow you to see larger thumbnails and more content by using the zoom slider.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Teja

Dear Bridge users,
As one of the top voted features, this is actively under development. We plan to provide option to hide the tiles so that you can see larger thumbnails and zoom out if you need to see more assets in Content View. While 9.1 (released) has some improvements, the upcoming Bridge release this year end will have significant improvements in this area. As far as the folder view and Keywords is concerned, we hope to address that next year.
Meanwhile, some of you may benefit from the existing “View Menu→Show Thumbnails Only” to see more assets in Content View.
Thank you for your vote.
