TIFF images added to CC Library are considered as PNG images when lib is used with InDesign or Illustrator
Hi together,
as my title already is telling:
TIFF images added to CC Library with Adobe Bridge are considered as PNG images when that library is used with InDesign or Illustrator: The tag TIFF is showing up in the library, but if I place and link the image with Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign the image will be "converted" to PNG with transparency. Always. Tried all kinds of TIFF images, all saved with PhotoShop: 1-Bit, Grayscale, RGB, CMYK, with color profiles applied or not, with transparency or without, with layers or without. Every time's the same: A PNG file is placed and not the TIFF image that I stored in the CC library.

I wonder if this is the right forum for that bug report.
The bug is confirmed by the InDesign developer team. It seems that is has nothing to do with Adobe Bridge, but it affects InDesign and Illustrator users working with TIFF images as assets with CC Libraries.Regards,

The same issue happens if you drag TIFF image files from the file system to an open CC Library in InDesign and Illustrator and place the asset from the CC library.

Seems that the issue is more Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator related than Adobe Bridge.
If one uses menu commands "Edit Original" or "Edit with > Adobe PhotoShop CC 2019 20.0" with a placed TIFF asset turned to PNG, PhotoShop will open the asset as TIFF image from a temp folder in the file system.Regards,
