Restore Batch Rename Tab Key function
Please restore that by pressing the Tab Key in Batch Rename toggles through the freeform fields and not every dropdown menu.
At one time the Tab Key would toggle between the freefrom fields shown in the attached image of 1084726, -, 5. But now the Tab Key toggles the Text Field, then the freeform field (1084726), then the minus key (-), then pluse key (+). etc.

Better batch rename sequence numbers
When for example a batch rename sequence number of 1 digit is selected, if there are more than 10 photos, it repeats the sequence numbering 1-10 (or 0-9 or 1-9, whatever it is). I suggest that rather than doing this, it should simply move on to the next number. So if there were 20 photos, the sequence numbers would be 1-20. If you told it 2 digits, they would be 01-20. I.e. the number of digits specified is a LOWER LIMIT, but the actual number of digits used ought to be as many as necessary to provide a unique sequence…

Improve U.I. labels in Batch Rename
In the Batch Rename user interface, it is difficult to read the Current Filename and New Filename because there is no differentiation between the label and the text.
Perhaps put colons after the labels, or set them in bold?

Batch Rename Static Sequence numbers
Batch Rename is a fantastic tool, I use sequence numbers often and was surprised to find the capability to retain the last number in the sequence and start from the next number during the next Batch Rename use. However, it would be ideal if that was an option or a second choice. Having to modify the starting sequence number each time I want to use the same preset in a new scenario or workflow isn't always ideal and in the case of using workflows it has to be modified and saved again to reset the sequence starting point. Launching a…

Return to original image after renaming
When renaming an image or images, after the changes are applied the focus changes to the first image in the folder. That means I must scroll through many images to return to my previous position.
It would be good if the focus remained on the image from which you started the renaming process.

Ability to strip metadata when using Image Processor and/or Batch Rename
The Export command, in Photoshop, allows you to strip the metadata from an image upon export, however there isn't a way to do this for a group of images in Bridge. When getting images ready for the web, or for emailing to a client, it would be very helpful if there were a quick way to remove metadata for more than one image at a time (like you can do with the Export command) when using Image Processor and/or Batch Rename.

Batch Rename enhanced with more Metadata Tokens (very limited now)
Currently, the batch rename in bridge only allows you to pick from a few options
from the Metadata, by adding a all the fields it will allow for a much more powerful process.4 votes -
Batch rename tool
I rename my raw images using AB. when importing from my camera cards, before importing into Lightroom. AB gives me the format of YYYYMMDD, like 20210428. the string of numbers is sometimes confusing if the day is less than 12. When I import into Lightroom, I have to rename a second time , as Lightroom gives me the option of YYYYMMMDD, so the final name is 2021APR28. since LR already does this, it would be very helpful if the naming options are common to both products. and safe me an extra step. I'm sure others would appreciate it too. seem…

Rename file extension (uppercase or lowercase)
When batch rename/rename is used it would be a welcome feature request to have an option to make the file extension capitalized, lowercase or change it entirely - this feature could find a spot in Preferences.
I often use Batch Rename and the one thing that I don't like is when I use List View or open up File Explorer some filenames have an uppercase extension and some have a lowercase extension ... but I'm not going to spend the time manually changing the extensions to match.

Add the option to remove "Preserved Filename" in metadata
Currently under Batch Rename there's an option to "Preserve current filename in XMP metadata" but there's no way to get rid of these preserved filenames after they are no longer useful (or simply because they disclose outdated or confidential information).
One way to do this would be to add a "remove preserved filename" checkbox to the Batch Rename dialog box; that way you could just rename the the files a second time to clear the preserved filename.
Another way to do it would be in the metadata panel; just make the "Preserved Filename" field deletable. You could also add a…

Batch Rename - Add Title Case or Sentence Case Option
Batch rename only offers Original case, Uppercase or Lowercase options. I believe that it is long overdue to have either Sentence Case and or more intelligent Title Case/Proper Case. Bonus points if there could be an underlying preference text file where one could build a dictionary/library lookup to handle special cases.
A couple of example topics:

Batch rename - selected directory(s)
when multiple folders are selected in the bridge, i notice that the option to batch rename files is greyed out.
it would be useful to allow the recursive naming of files in sub directories to be batch processed. in this case i want to search for a pattern --- that was introduced when exporting to web from photoshop on several hundred images and replace the --- with -3 votes -

Long titles and the inability to extend them in Preview
Upon "Batch renaming", and utilizing the preview option to contrast the original files' names against the new titles, long names are disadvantageous because Bridge does not have the feature to extend these long names, which compel users to export the "Previewable data" as CSV file and view them in Excel sheet to double check and confirm the data prior to confirmation.
If these 2 steps can be reduced to one by adding this feature that would facilitate the experience and be more user friendly.

Add keywords in batch rename
Every day we use keywords to categorize a lot of images. It would be super cool to be able to add those keywords to the actual name of the image through the Batch Rename. It would save a lot of time. Maybe in the New Filenames/ Metadata values drop down menu.

add "create contact sheet" to the workflow
add "create contact sheet" to the workflow
and maybe actions out of photoshopthis would be a huge timesaver if we could build workflows with contact sheets and before the contact sheet have a little color correction.
