It might be useful to state the Brand and model of the readers, the cards, and the connection used: USB 3.1? USB C? Thunderbolt? Maybe the operating system and the version of Bridge could be relevant.

As an alternative, it could be possible to be in full screen mode in one window, and allow to edit the metadata in another instance/window for Bridge

Yes, and make it customisable. the best would be to allow user input, for keywords, or description, others might have different needs...

Works in Bridge 11 on a PC, is it on a Mac, which version do you have with this issue?
Hello, I have a very long monitor (5120x1440) And I get the same filmstrip-like behaviour if the ratio between width and height of the Bridge window is too long. I guess there is some logic in place to have a the filmstrip UI be locked to a single row, when the UI reaches a given ratio.
I'm able to get several rows for a while if I go change the UI size (but as soon as I stretch the UI, I get single row again)
