An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedOkay, the "show items from subfolders" doesn't seem to work right. It claims there are 170017 items, 98636 hidden, but in fact the number of hidden items is 481, as found by dir /s /ah. Also, Bridge 2018 finds over 250,000 images. It seems it is impossible to build a cache using Bridge 2019.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI started the task of "show items from subfolders" yesterday. Currently, it is still running and I believe it is stuck while generating previews and is not progressing. The status at the bottom of Bridge says 170017 items, 98636 hidden (Generating previews...). It has been this status for over an hour and Taskmgr shows around 55% CPU, 35% Network, but only 1% Disk. Memory is about 4,460 MB.

In Tools->Manage Cache, there is no option to build the cache without exporting. I understand that it is possible to build the local cache by doing View->Show Items from Subfolders. This works okay, but it isn't as obvious as in prior Bridge versions where you could deselect export cache from within the Build Cache dialog. Also, if you just do View->Show Items from Subfolders, is there any way to create 100% previews? The main problem I am facing is that build the cache from the Manage Cache dialog may fail when images are on a remote file share. Then, when I tell Bridge to resume, it creates unpopulated exported cache folders and Bridge does not verify the exported cache. Subsequent keyword searches in these corrupted cache folders return nothing.
