Bridge 2019 Photo Downloader doesn't remember previous settings
The new Photo Downloader always comes up in Standard Dialog, even though I previously closed it in Advanced. It always defaults to my Pictures folder, even though I chose a different folder for previous download. It always defaults to Basic Metadata, even though I chose something different on previous use.
Hi,
The issue has been fixed in latest release of Bridge # 12.0
Thanks,
Bridge Team

Bridge 2020: just create empty folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC 2019
Problem solved.

I have this problem too. As I installed Catalina and Bridge 2020 on a new machine I don't have any 2019 folders. I guess I will just have to wait for Adobe to update Bridge 2020.

I have this problem too in Bridge 2020, and to make matters worse, the downloader is now in French even though my preferred language is English and in Bridge 18 & 19 it remains in English. I'm worried that if I remove the old versions I'll be stuck!

We seem to be going around in circles with this issue!
With Bridge CC 2019 a reported fix was to have your old Bridge 2018 CC AppData folders still present, at least for Windows users. This was because Bridge CC 2019 was attempting to save settings in Bridge CC 2018 folders. Then the problem was fixed with the release of version 9.1.0.338.
I just installed Bridge 2020 and the problem is back again!
...and analogously, if your old Bridge CC 2019 AppData folders are kept, then this stops the issue occurring. Without these folders settings are not kept.
So we appear to have exactly the same issue - Bridge 2020 is trying to save settings in the wrong folders i.e. Bridge CC 2019 folders. -

I'm a newcomer to Adobe CC, having stuck it out on CS6 on my PC until switching to a Mac forced my hand. I expected an enhanced experience for my monthly bucks, but this is a Pain In The A**. I'm having to set up the save location path, metadata, everything, from scratch every single time I download. Why do things that worked perfectly in CS6 - ie, years ago - not work any more? Fix it please!

I'm have the same problem. Have to click File>Get photos from camera, each time I want to import from my memory card and then have to recheck everything. This all happened after last Bridge update.

I am a photographer. I am experiencing the same problems with Photo Downloader from Bridge CC 2019. It forgets previous info, opens up as if I've never used it before. PLEASE fix this ASAP. I am working on an iMac running OS 10.14.3 Mojave.

It has been over FIVE MONTHS since I first reported this in 9.0.0.204. Bridge has been updated to 9.0.2.219. This is completely astonishing from a company with Adobe's reputation. This breaks the normal workflow. Not only is the path to save photos to still lost (it defaults to Pictures on the Mac), so is the renaming settings, the advanced tab setting, and the metadata template for properly marking the photos. This needs to be fixed, ASAP. My cloud apps are up to date and I'm paying my subscription every day. What gives?

Although we are talking about Bridge CC 2019, it appears that Bridge is attempting to save settings for the photo downloader in Bridge CC 2018 folder which is likely missing from your system.

I’ve uninstalled Adobe Bridge version 2019 and reinstalled version 2018.
In Bridge 2018 Photo Downloader keeps all data in memory perfectly.
Weird solution, I know, but... it works.
