1. After updating Bridge today I can no longer rename a file by copying and pasting.

   After updating Bridge today I can no longer rename a file by copying and pasting. If you highlight the file name by clicking on it and then try copying and pasting a new name, the highlight disappears and you are lift with original name. Am using Windows 11 Pro which is up to date, as of 23/02/2024.

2. Barch rename causes crash

   Adobe Bridge 13.02.636 prompts for an error report and then shuts down whenever Batch Rename is invoked.

   The issue was resolved by resetting standard workspaces. I reset those, the preferences, and dumped the cache all at the same time. I'd previously tried only the latter two, but not the workspace reset.

   I have reported this issue here before but I was asked to post here at the Adobe community forum, so I'm posting again.

   In the past, I could select files, go to Batch Rename, input my renaming criteria, and the changes would be made without affecting the file extension. However, for quite a while now, I have had to manually add a "new file extension" line to my Batch recipe in order for the files not to drop a file extension completely. See attached images to see what happens when I leave off the appropriate extension in the recipe.

   Nothing I've tried has worked and I've searched various Adobe forums off and on for ages. I just updated to the new 10.1.0.163 Bridge today (that released alongside Photoshop 21.2.0) AND reset my preferences.

   Nothing helps. Any ideas?

4. Batch Rename truncates file extension and clears cached preview

   When I batch rename files it gets the name right (ie Text and sequence number) but it leaves off the filename entirely. If I hit Preview before renaming it shows that it will be done correctly, but when I actually execute the batch rename the files just come out like Text0001 instead of Text0001.jpg or whatever. I have to manually add another line to the batch rename of New Extension for any extension to be put in the file at all. Fortunately I've only been renaming files of the same type.

   Further, once the rename is completed all of the full screen preview images are gone from the cache and when you hit space bar it just shows what I suspect is the embedded preview from the raw file (in this case .ARW files). I have to purge the cache for the affected files for a new full screen preview to render.

5. Serious batch ERROR : when renaming files with batch rename, it skips files and changes file type! And files will not open.

8. Batch Rename on Mac

   Bridge crashes every time I try to do a batch rename on my Mac. I have everything up to date and it's a newer machine with m3 max chip. Very frustrating. It leaves me with the temp file names..

9. Renaming paired RAW and JPGs doesn't give the same sequence numbers to each pair

   I just tried renaming a bunch of images shot in both RAW and JPG, by setting up a batch rename in the latest version of Bridge (15.0.2.432), with a text field for the first part of the filename, and a 4 digit sequence number as part two of the new filename. The original files had identical filenames, only the file extension was different (.DNG and .JPG). But after renaming, Bridge didn't keep the pairs, and gave me:

   xxx0001.DNG + xxx0002.JPG
   xxx0003.DNG + xxx0004.JPG
   xxx0005.DNG + xxx0006.JPG

   Please fix this asap!

10. Non-ASCII Accented Characters issue in Batch Rename

    Trying to replace accented characters like éèêëàâä… with their ASCII plain-letter equivalent (in these examples, e and a) failed.
    I even tried using Unicode and Regex, but it looks impossible.

11. Content Panel Thumbnails go blank

    After renaming files with Batch Rename, more than half of the thumbnails on the Content Panel go blank. When I click on a blank one it shows correctly in the Preview Panel. Running version 14.1.2.300 on MacBook macOS 14.6.1

12. Batch rename facility

    I use the batch rename facility in different folders, once I'm finished sorting through images. I have various presets saved depending on what job I'm working on.
    Please can we have the default set to number 1 when renumbering, or at least the option to set it always as 1. I don't want sequentially numbered images across different folders. I want to start each first image in a new folder to start at 0001. Not the last number that I finished with +1

13. Batch Rename Removing File Extention

    When you select Metadata as a filename option and use Aperture, it deletes the file extension. None of the other Metadata options generate this problem.

    As a teacher, this is an early assignment in the semester and it's very discouraging when your students batch rename and lose all of their images.

14. MXF Rename Not Working

    Cannot consistently rename or batch rename .mxf video files in Bridge (v12, 13 or 14.)
    When trying to batch rename, all files are usually skipped. Sometimes (after restart) all but first and last file selected are renamed. No error message.
    Cannot rename single .mxf, either. Error message reads that file is in use by another process. After restart one file can be renamed once - only once.
    XML, txt & mp4 files rename as expected.

15. ファイルリネーム時の旧名ファイルと新名ファイルのキャッシュ書き込みについて。

    Mac os12.6.8　macbookpro2017

    ファイルのリネーム時。旧名ファイルと新名ファイルが同時に生成され大量のデータ処理時にパソコンのフリーズやメモリに多大な負荷が発生している。

    以前は旧名ファイルは表示されなくスムーズに処理されていたが。5000枚の写真データのリネームが、一瞬にして10000枚のデータ処理が必要になる今の状況は狂っている。

    以前の状態に戻してほしい。

16. Batch renumbering is unreliable

    Bridge, newest version 13.0.4.755, Windows 10 Pro.

    "Batch rename" produces unreliable results.

    A simple renumbering of frames

    from name.0000.png name.0003 .0006 .0009 etc.

    to name.0001.png name.0002 .0003 etc.

    Batch rename decides to shuffle the renumbered frames and reordering the sequence.

    Weirdly batch rename with the exact same settings, worked on my colleagues pc, same Bridge version.

17. image duplication when batch renaming

    Doing a batch rename duplicates all of my images. Bravo Adobe, maybe try beta testing this bloatware before releasing it to the public... it is far and away the buggiest software on my computer.

20. Bridge doesn't start number sequences with the correct number

    When batch renaming files, Bridge used to automatically advance the sequence number to the next number after the current sequence, which let you select the next group of images and they would automatically get the next numbers in the sequence. Say, files A to F are renamed to imgxxx, I would get img001 to img006. When I'd go to rename the next files, G to M, , the Batch Rename would automatically apply 007 as the next starting number, so the first renamed file would be img007.

    This worked until around 2017 or 2018.

    Now it picks some random number that's of no use to me.

    See the included images. In the first image, I have the files highlighted that I want to rename. In the second image, I have to enter 31931 to get the correct sequence number to match the original file number (1931). I'm renaming both JPG and CR2 files, so the count should increase by 6, so when I select the next batch of images, I should see it fill in 131937, which would be the next number since the last renamed file is numbered 0311836. The third image shows the results highlighted.

    The 4th image shows what Bridge thinks the next number should be. 31943? Where di that come from? In the 5th image I had to enter the correct number, 031937. Image 6 shows the next batch, which starts at 1945. Batch Rename should automatically pick 031945, like it would for over a decade before, but nope, image 7 shows it picked 31953.

    Fix this so it works like it used to. I had to avoid newer versions of Bridge because this was a hassle. And now I can't even go back to the older versions because someone at Adobe decided it would be useful (it wasn't) to delete my older versions that worked right.

    The way it worked for years before 2017 or 2018 (I can't even provide the version it changed because it's been deleted) is the proper way it should work. This gets old real fast when working with hundreds of images. I tend to rename them in batches of about 50-100 since Batch Rename has frequently skipped images or mixed up their orders in larger batches in the past.

    Oh, and get a better bug report system. Five short lines of text might have been fine in the early 80s.
